Additional coverages
Every car rental with Hertz includes collision damage waiver* and a 24/7 road assistance from HAK. However, you always expect the unexpected. Fortunately, Hertz has a range of additional coverages to travel with peace of mind!
Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW): Reduce your liability to a minimum charge, according to the car group you have picked, by paying an additional small fee in the price of CDW.
The following cases are not covered:
- Damage to the underside of the car
- Damage to the wheels & tires
- Broken car glass
- Loss of the vehicle keys and documents

Windshield Protection: Tire and Glass Coverage provides cover against consequences of damages on tires, windscreen, side windows and back window. If TGI is not accepted, the client will be held liable for the full value of damage on tires, windscreen, side windows and back window. Moreover, WSP is not included in SUP.

Theft Protection (TP)**: Choose Theft Protection to reduce your financial responsibility in case of theft of the rented car to a minimum charge, based on the car group you have chosen.

Super Cover (SUP): Choose Super Cover and travel with peace of mind. By choosing Super Cover, you are completely exempt from fees in the event of theft or damage to the Hertz vehicle. This cover can be arranged provided the renter has previously accepted the relevant cover charges for CDW, SCDW and TP or has a booking that includes these covers. Damages caused to the underside and wheels of the vehicle are not covered by any insurance.

Personal Accident Coverage (PAC): For a charge of €4 (+VAT)/rental day, Hertz covers you in case of an accident involving rented vehicle. Amounts insured are in accordance with valid terms and conditions of agreement between Hertz and the insurance company.
Ferryboat Travel Cover (FBF): Allowed only with the prior written approval of Hertz and provided that the customer has accepted the Ferry boat fee. Otherwise, the renter is liable for all damages caused to the rented vehicle during its transfer, regardless of any coverage and liability restrictions accepted and paid at the start of the rental. The ferry boat fee is available for purchase locally at any Hertz station.
The cost is 2€+ VAT per day with the maximum of 10 days.
Young Driver Surcharge: Allows customers aged 21 & 24 years old to rent a category A, B, K vehicle under the condition that they hold a drivers license for at least 12 months prior to the pickup day. Young drivers surcharge is available for 7€ + VAT per day with a maximum charge of 10 days.
* The only exception is the AFE tariff.
** Theft Protection does not cover theft of personal belongings from the rented car.
